Utah State Complaint

What is a Utah State Complaint?

If you believe an Utah public or charter school has violated federal IDEA or state Special Education Rules, you may file a State Complaint.  A State Complaint can look back 12 months.  When a State Complaint is made, USBE assigns a neutral, contracted investigator to review facts, issues, and documents to identify and remedy.  Investigators have 60 days to investigate and make a decision.  State Complaints are not appealable, but parties may choose to file for Due Process.
